Our Story
The story of the Mohidin Group has humble beginnings and yet is one filled with entrepreneurial spirit, hard work and passion. This remarkable family business that has thrived over three generations, traces its origins back to the early 1930s when Shaikh Mohidin Shaikh Dawood embarked on a journey with just Rs 50 given to him by his mother. He initially ventured into selling vegetables & milk – to building the values that act as the bedrock of the business today.
In those early days, the group’s activities included servicing and unloading ships at the Vasco port, which led to exposure to trade and importing of goods. This experience led to the establishment of an Emporium in Vasco city, marking the foundation of their business empire.
As time went on, the Mohidin Group expanded its horizons. In the 1960s, they ventured into mining and stone quarrying. They also engaged in real estate and developed the largest fleet of transport tankers in Goa for petroleum products.
Managing three petrol pumps in Goa, originally in the Goa-Portuguese era, in affiliation with Burmah Shell in the 60s, now Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited; further solidified their presence in the petroleum industry.
The group diversified and undertook several other ventures like the importing and trading of timber and a saw mill. They built a hotel property in Vasco and even ventured into manpower recruitment and operated a travel agency.
In 1998, the founder, Mohidin, passed away, but his legacy lived on. In the late 1970s, his son, Abdul Azim Shaikh Mohidin took the initiative to structure and formalise the entire business, ensuring the brand continued to grow and succeed. His brothers Anwarali Shaikh Mohidin & Mohammad Iqbal Shaikh Mohidin, followed suit soon after, joining the business and contributing to the development of the brand Mohidin.
The early 2000s saw the group’s foray into earth-moving equipment hiring, including excavators and dozers, before the mining business ceased in 2008-09.
In 2002, Avez Azim Shaikh joined the family business, contributing to its ongoing evolution. In 2006, a new chapter in the Mohidin Group’s history began, leading to the establishment of Mohidin Properties & Holdings, their Real Estate wing. This move further diversified their portfolio and expanded their influence in the real estate sector.
The group has further expanded into the Furniture Business, Wedding & Party Venue namely Mohidin’s Gardenia in Vasco and continues to operate in the Petroleum and Quarrying sector.
The Mohidin Group’s journey is a testament to the resilience, vision, and dedication of three generations of entrepreneurs, each contributing to its growth and success, and continuing to build on a legacy that began over half a century ago.

Abdul Azim Shaikh Mohidin is a man of exceptional humility and unwavering dedication. His life and work are a testament to his commitment to making a positive impact on both the business world and the community.
In his early years, Abdul Azim was the driving force behind the growth and success of the Mohidin Group. His tireless efforts helped structure and elevate the business, adding to the brand’s remarkable legacy. He now acts as a mentor to the next generation of entrepreneurs building from where he left off.
Operating mostly under the radar, Abdul Azim is compassionate and dedicated to contributing to society. He serves as a Trustee and actively manages the Mohidin Educational and Charitable Trust, which was established to make a difference in the lives of the community. The Trust’s primary focus is on supporting students and widows, embodying Abdul Azim’s commitment to giving back and fostering educational opportunities for those in need.
As Chairman of Anjuman HI High School, he plays an instrumental part in providing quality education to over 1200 underprivileged students. His work here not only reflects his commitment to education but also his passion for uplifting the community.

Meet Avez Shaikh, the driving force behind Mohidin Properties & Holdings. Avez’s journey in the world of real estate is marked by a passion for creating spaces that not only redefine living but also contribute to the betterment of the community. His educational foundation is built on an MBA in Finance from ICFAI Hyderabad, in association with Transworld University California. His academic pursuits laid the groundwork for a career characterized by vision and innovation.
In 2006, Avez embarked on a remarkable journey, founding MPH with a clear vision in mind. Since then, under his astute leadership, MPH has constructed and developed more than 1 million square feet of real estate, leaving a lasting imprint on the Goan real estate landscape.
Currently, he serves as the Secretary of CREDAI Goa and a board member of its Executive Committee, actively contributing to the growth and well-being of the real estate industry in the region. His dedication to shaping the future of Goa extends to his role as a Board Member of the Goa Town and Country Planning Department, where he actively participates in planning the state’s urban development.
Beyond his role in the business world, Avez is deeply committed to giving back to society. He was a Charter Member of the Rotary Club of Dabolim – Vasco, and is constantly engaged in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities, where he serves as a trustee of the Mohidin Education and Charitable Trust, which supports widows and provides scholarships for children, fostering educational opportunities for those in need.
Avez’s passion for education also finds expression in his role as a member of the Managing Committee of Anjuman H I High School, Baina, where he plays a role in providing quality education to over 1200 underprivileged children.

Ashvek Bhoi
Partner — Resources Earth
Ashvek Bhoi’s story is built on the foundation of unwavering commitment, both to his clients and to the pursuit of lifelong learning and improvement. His journey is a testament to the power of dedication and the belief in constantly raising the bar to deliver the best.
Ashvek’s academic journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Karnatak University, which laid the technical groundwork for his future endeavours. His quest for knowledge led him to the United States of America, where he pursued a Masters in Industrial & Systems Engineering at The Ohio State University. This period in the U.S. also saw him working for Ryobi Die Casting, a Japanese firm, manufacturing automotive components, providing him with valuable insights into international standards of industry practices. He brought back these lessons from the USA to India, emphasising the need for meticulous attention to detail, quality control, and the establishment of efficient systems.
In 2008, Ashvek embarked on his entrepreneurial venture by starting an industrial unit in Verna, focusing on manufacturing of plastic packaging material along with printing. This experience significantly expanded his understanding of entrepreneurship and the importance of structured organisation, planning, and meeting deadlines.
Ashvek co-founded Resources Earth with Avez Azim Shaikh in 2010, a long time friend since his schooling years in Goa. Their deep-rooted friendship and shared vision for the future formed the basis of Resources Earth (RE). Born and raised in a service-led family in Goa, Ashvek understands the values and aspirations of his friends and the people of Vasco, where he has a strong connection. Being a first generation entrepreneur – his commitment to providing value to homeowners is at the core of his mission, ensuring that customers get the best for their hard-earned money and keep coming back.
Resources Earth was founded on the dream of delivering quality with price-consciousness to the residents of Vasco, outperforming industry standards and setting a mark of excellence. Ashvek’s active involvement in the societies of the projects, including his role as Chairman, reflects his commitment to long-term support & respect for homeowners. These roles provide invaluable learning opportunities to avoid repeating past mistakes, ensuring a constant drive for improvement. Adnan Shaikh

Adnan Anwar Shaikh is a dynamic individual with an unwavering passion for identifying and seizing opportunities. Adnan’s career began at the family-run Saw Mill, a venture conceptualised by his grandfather in the 1960s when he astutely spotted the opportunity. The family business also included wholesaling and retailing of plywood in the 1980s.
Armed with a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from St. Joseph’s College of Business Administration (SJCBA) in Bangalore, Adnan set out on his own entrepreneurial journey, venturing into the retail and import of furniture in 2015, a business better known as ‘Artisans’ in Vasco. This seemed like a natural progression for him from manufacturing & production to retail.
Much like their Grandfather, Adnan, in collaboration with Avez Azim Shaikh, identified a gap in the market and seized the opportunity to establish Mohidin’s Gardenia at Vasco, which is an AC Banquet and 4000 sqm wedding & party lawn with ample car parking. This venture brought a quality venue right into the neighbourhood.
Beyond his business acumen and participation in CII, Adnan is an ex-President and active contributor to the Rotary Club of Vasco Port Town. He added value through the various workshops, talks, and training sessions in institutions, schools, and self-help organisations during his tenure. He is also a Member of the Managing Committee of Anjuman HI High School, in Vasco.
